For ages 3 to 6, we deliberately moved away from an all-steel body. At this age, a tiffin gets dropped, chewed on, banged against the table, and handled by hands still learning their own strength — so Champ Small uses a food-grade high density polypropylene (HDPP) container instead. It's lighter to hold, warmer and less startling to little fingers than cold steel, and completely rust proof by nature since there's no metal in the food chamber to corrode, chip, or flake over time.

Every unit is finished with a protective outer layer that guards against everyday scuffing, scratches from school bag zippers, and the general chaos of toddler handling — so the cartoon print underneath stays bright wash after wash instead of dulling in a term. It's food safe, doesn't hold on to odours or oil stains, and is gentle enough for a first tiffin without sacrificing the toughness a toddler day actually demands.
