Dos and don’ts
Do
- Use a burner that matches the wider base so it heats evenly
- Preheat on medium heat for about a minute
- Shake extra flour off the dough before cooking
- Wipe flour crumbs away between rotis
- Use wooden, silicone or nylon tools, or tongs gently
- Brush a thin layer of ghee or oil on parathas
- Let it cool fully before washing
- Hang it by the handle or store it flat with a cloth on top
Don’t
- Use steel spatulas, knives or scrapers
- Heat it empty on high flame
- Leave burnt flour or oil stuck on the surface
- Pour water on a hot tawa
- Scrub with steel wool or harsh powders
- Use aerosol cooking spray
- Let flames wrap above the base toward the handle
- Put it in an oven or microwave
Roti routine
- Preheat. Medium heat for 30 to 60 seconds. The wide base takes a moment to warm all the way across.
- First side. Lay the roti down and wait for small bubbles.
- Flip and cook. Cook until light brown spots appear.
- Finish. Puff over a direct flame with tongs if you like, brush with ghee and stack in a cloth.
Care routine
- Cool down. Rest it on a trivet until warm, not hot.
- Wipe it. A dry cloth lifts flour and oil.
- Hand wash gently. Mild soap, soft sponge, warm water.
- Dry and store. Towel-dry fully, then hang or store flat.
Dishwasher? The listing says dishwasher safe, but harsh detergents wear down non-stick coatings. Hand washing is the safer choice.

Loose handle
Stop using it until the handle is fixed or replaced.
